Lion & Crown Mosaics is the studio of Simon Beames — Manchester-born, 26 years at the bench. Every mural, shower feature, backsplash and framed piece is designed, hand-cut and set by one pair of hands, then crated and shipped anywhere in the United States.
No production line. No warehouse shelf. Your piece doesn’t exist until you order it — and that’s rather the point.
The lion built his own crown, tile by tile. So does every piece that leaves this studio.

The service side
Not everything ships in a crate. Murals, shower features and backsplash art are designed for the room itself — drawn full-size for your approval, then installed by Simon’s own hands, start to finish. Onsite design & installation is available across the Colorado Front Range.
Why hand-cut
Machine-made mosaic sheets come on a grid, and you can see the grid forever. A Lion & Crown piece is drawn full-size, approved by you, then cut piece by piece — glass, stained glass, smalti and natural stone chosen for the light in your room.
How commissioning works
A free call or message about the space, the idea and the budget. A photo or a rough notion is plenty to start.
A full-size design with a colour palette and material samples for your approval. Nothing is cut before you sign it off.
Every piece hand-cut, checked and placed one at a time. Allow a minimum of 30 days — proper work won’t be rushed.
Grouted, sealed and crated for insured shipping anywhere in the US — or installed on site for feature work.
